1. Introduction to Work with Fractions in Google Sheets

Recipes help make cooking easier by telling you which ingredients you need to make a particular dish and how much of each ingredient you need for the dish to serve a certain number of people.

Sometimes you might need to adjust a recipe to make it larger or smaller, such as when you’re cooking for a party and want to double the number of servings.

Or you might want to make less if you are preparing the recipe for just yourself and another person.

To do this, you need to do math to convert the ingredients in the recipe to the right quantities.

A spreadsheet can help you do the math automatically.

In this lesson, you will build a spreadsheet to help you adjust the size of a recipe.

After you’ve set up this spreadsheet, you can use it to easily convert any recipe to make the number of servings you want.

This lesson uses Google Sheets, but you could apply these skills and concepts using any spreadsheet application.
