2. Make a List of Things People Do Online

In this video, you will brainstorm things people do online that may leave data behind.

Then, you will each add three items to your shared spreadsheet.

To begin, gather with your group. Together, think of the many things that people do online.

They might play games, send emails, or talk to friends.

Others might do homework, read the news look up information for a paper, watch videos, download apps, or read books.

Think of ways that anyone might use the internet.

Once you have discussed several ideas with your group, return to your own computer.

Have one person type Online Actions in the first cell of the spreadsheet to create a header for your list. Bold the header.

Then, each student should add at least three ways that people use the internet to your spreadsheet. Or, if you’re working by yourself, brainstorm and add at least ten ways people use the internet to your spreadsheet.

Once each person in the group has added at least three things to the spreadsheet, move on to the next video to revise your list.

Now, it’s your turn: Gather with your group at one computer to brainstorm things people do online that may leave data behind, Add a header for your list, Go back to your own computer and add at least three items to your shared spreadsheet.
