In this activity, you will research, record, write, and share information about a topic.
First, you will select a topic you’d like to know more about.
Then, you will use different strategies in Google Search and Advanced Search to find
information about your topic.
You will filter your search so that it returns the most *relevant* sources for your topic.
Then, you’ll test some of the websites you find for *credibility* and record notes about
your sources and your topic in a document.
Finally, you’ll write a paragraph about your topic to present your research.
You will share this article with your partner--but this time, your work will be *credible.* This
article will *inform* your reader rather than try to fool them.
To start, create a blank document.
From a new tab or window, select Google Drive.
Open a new, blank document.
Name it “Research Notes.”
Then, choose a topic you’d like to know more about.
Unless your receive other instructions, your topic can be about anything you like, but
make sure it is school appropriate.
Later, you will share your topic with classmates and your teacher.
Once you’ve chosen a topic, type it at the top of your Research Notes document.
Then, move on to the next video where you will search the internet for more information.
Now, it’s your turn: Create a blank document and name it “Research
