4. Open Your Presentation from Gmail and Insert a New Slide

In this video, you will choose a spelling word to practice.

Then, you will insert a new slide in your presentation.

To start, return to your own computer and find the email about your shared presentation.

If it’s already open, close the browser tab so you can practice opening a file from email.

Then, click the Google apps menu. Select Gmail.

Click on the email about your presentation.

Then, click on “Open in Slides.”

You and your partner or small group will be working on the presentation at the same time.

Now, decide what your spelling word will be.

Maybe it is new to you or difficult to spell. Or, it could be a word that your teacher assigns.

Next, insert another slide in your presentation. Click on the menu next to the plus sign.

And choose “New slide with layout.” Select a layout that has a large space for an image.

Make sure to keep your own slides together and do not insert a slide where someone else is working.

Be sure to make changes to only your slides. These are the slides about your spelling word.

If you make a mistake, use the filmstrip view to move your slide.

Filmstrip view shows all of the slides in your presentation in order.

Click on your slide, and drag it to where you want it to be.

Now, it’s your turn: Return to your own computer, Click on the Google apps menu, and select Gmail, Open the presentation from your email, And use the filmstrip view to move your new slide, if necessary.
