Transcript

In the last activity, you started an area guide that includes information, or data, about places to visit in an area.

You built your guide in a spreadsheet, which allows you to organize data about each place.

In this activity, you will add a rating scale to your guide using data validation.

Data validation allows you to limit the information that is allowed in a cell.

In your area guide, this might mean that cells in your category column only allow three ratings like “Must see,” “If you have time,” or “Avoid this site.”

Other information appears as an error.

Data validation helps organize, sort, and group information in your guide.

To start, open your area guide.

Open Google Drive, find the spreadsheet, and open it.

Now, it’s your turn: Open your area guide and Move on to the next video.
