In this extension, you will write a credible Public Service Announcement, or P-S-A.

A public service announcement is a message intended to raise public awareness about a social issue.

PSA’s are usually about public health and safety, and cover topics such as the dangers of reckless driving or risks related to environmental pollution.

They can appear in video, radio, or print form.

To create a credible PSA, you will: Choose a topic about public health and safety, Search online to find credible sources about your topic, Choose three important points to communicate, And write a paragraph of at least four sentences.

To begin, open Google Drive.

Create a new, blank document in Google Docs.

Name it.

Choose a topic about public health or safety that interests you.

Your PSA can be about cyberbullying, recycling, preventing forest fires, or another topic.

Write the name of your topic at the top of your document.

Next, search online to research your topic.

Read at least two articles about your topic to find important information for your PSA.

Remember to use only credible sources with trustworthy information.

The 5 W’s can help you evaluate the credibility of a source.

Write down three or points that you want to communicate about your topic.

Then, write a paragraph of at least four sentences.

Introduce your topic, explain why it is important, and communicate your three main points.

Remember to use accurate, trustworthy information and make your wording free of bias.
