In this activity, you will add to your Auto Editor program so it highlights each writing mistake in a different, random color.

This will make it easier to identify the overused words and phrases in a document.

To complete your Auto Editor program, you will use another core programming concept: variables.

A variable stores information for a program to use.

In this activity, you will make a variable to store all the random colors your Auto Editor will use to highlight words.

You will search the internet for programming tips and reuse code others have written.

This makes programming faster and easier.

It also creates a vibrant community of people who share knowledge.

As you create and test your code, you will also find and fix some problems, or “bugs.”

By the end of this activity, you will have found code on the internet and applied it to make your Auto Editor even more useful.

Now, it's your turn.

Open your Auto Editor document and open the script editor.

Then, move on to the next video.
