If you spend a lot of time listening to music, you probably have listened to a few playlists.

A playlist is a group of songs that have been collected for a specific event, purpose, or theme.

For example, you might have a playlist you listen to with your friends, or a playlist you listen to while doing your math homework.

You can create a playlist based on a specific theme, such as an emotion or life event.

In this lesson, you will create a playlist inspired by a topic you are studying in school, such as a book or historical event.

You can even make a playlist inspired by a math equation or scientific discovery!

Creating a playlist can allow you to express your own perspective on a topic by engaging with it in a new, creative way.

After you choose your songs, you will “annotate” your playlist.

This means you will write brief notes, or “annotations,” explaining why you chose each song.

Once your playlist is complete, listening to it may help you remember facts about the topic you chose.

Maybe your playlist will even help you study for a test!

This lesson uses Google Docs, but you can complete it using any word processing application, or even on a piece of paper.

Using a digital application to create your playlist makes it easy to share with friends and classmates.

You can even discuss your playlist and annotations with your classmates using Comments, and invite them to add their own songs to your document.

As you complete this lesson, you will: Choose a topic for your playlist, Brainstorm main ideas related to your topic, Search for and choose songs, And annotate your playlist.
