In this video, you will set up your crossword puzzle.

Spreadsheets are great for creating crossword puzzles because they have a grid-style format.

You will make some formatting adjustments to the spreadsheet to make it work even better for your crossword puzzle. To begin, select all of the cells in the spreadsheet.

Then, make the columns smaller.

And expand the rows to make the cells look as close to squares as you can.

Add borders to your cells. This will make it easier to see each of the letters you or others add when typing in the words.

Next, add a fill color to the puzzle. Most crossword puzzles use a dark background, so that the white spaces really stand out.. Format cells in one of the rows, so you can add a title.

Then, create a title for your puzzle. Use your theme in the title so people who solve your puzzle know the type of words to guess.

Format your title, so it is easier to see.

Now, it’s your turn: Resize and add borders to the cells, Add a dark fill color, and Create a title for your crossword puzzle.

Now, it’s your turn:
  1. Resize and add borders to the cells.
  2. Add a dark fill color.
  3. Create a title for your crossword puzzle.
