1. Introduction to Collaborate to Tell a Story

While writing a story on your own is fun, you can also collaborate with other people to create an exciting story.

In this lesson, you will write a collaborative story with a group using a starter document that contains writing prompts.

As you write, each group member should contribute a few sentences to the story.

Everyone in the group should also work together to make sure the story has a central theme or event.

In this lesson, you will Choose a writing prompt from a starter project, Share your story with your group, Write your story collaboratively, And make title suggestions using comments.

This lesson uses Google Docs, but you could apply these skills and concepts in most other word processing applications or even on paper.

To begin, gather around a computer and choose someone to follow the steps.

Then, go to and sign in to your Google account.

If you do not have a Google account, pause the video and create one.

Next, open the starter project.

You can also practice the skills in this lesson in a document you have previously created.

Make a copy of the project and rename it.

Now, it’s your turn: Open the starter project, And rename it.
