3. The Email and the Payment Receipt

In this video, you will hear more of KaMar’s story and discuss whether or not he should sell his sneakers to the buyer.

In the last video, the buyer called and asked KaMar to ship the sneakers overnight.

Right after hanging up the phone, KaMar received an email, even though he didn’t remember giving his email address to the buyer.

KaMar assumed she got his email address from the auction site.

In the email, the buyer said she didn’t want to pay through the auction site because they charge service fees.

She said she would pay KaMar directly through a well-known online payment site and asked for KaMar’s payment I-D to send the money.

KaMar safely sent his payment information to the buyer to pay for the sneakers with the online payment service.

He was careful not to include any log-in details or other personal information with the buyer.

Soon after, KaMar received an email confirming payment, with a receipt from the payment service.

KaMar looked at the receipt.

It had the right logos and layout.

It looked and felt like a real receipt and came from an email address that looked like it was from the payment site.

The email also included a message from the buyer telling him to ship the sneakers, and to include the shipment tracking number.

KaMar was in a hurry to sell the shoes, so he boxed them and got ready to ship them.

But he had a funny feeling.

He paused and thought about the sale: “I really want to sell these sneakers.

But, something does not add up.

These shoes are too expensive to just drop in the mail without confirming everything.

I better go back and look at all the messages and make sure I received payment.”

KaMar went back to the confirmation email.

He looked at it closely and realized that it came from a strange email address, not the official payment site.

Then he looked closely at the logos in the message.

The colors weren’t quite right.

They were a little fuzzy and positioned slightly differently than previous emails from the company.

That’s when KaMar realized he hadn’t received a confirmation message in his payment app account.

He logged into his account to see if the money had arrived, but he couldn’t find a record of the payment, or the buyer.
