1. Spreadsheet for Time Management

Playback Speed:

Managing time helps you spend the right amount of time on tasks and activities that are important to your goals, while still having time for yourself and to take care of your personal needs.

When you plan your time wisely, it helps you feel in control of your day because you have scheduled time for each task or activity you need to accomplish, so there’s enough time to get everything done.

To start, it helps to understand how much time you actually spend on activities - it might be more or less than you think.

In this lesson, you will track how you spend time in a spreadsheet.

This will help you see how much time you spend on different things, such as taking classes, searching for apartments, or watching TV.

Then, you will use the information in the spreadsheet to decide how to best spend your time in the future.

Tracking your time in a spreadsheet can show you if you’re spending enough time on activities that will help you achieve your goals.

For example, if you’re looking for a job, you should have activities on your spreadsheet like searching for new openings and attending interviews.

If your goal is to learn a new skill to help you get a better job, you might plan time for taking training classes or watching educational videos online.

Spreadsheets can show patterns in how long you spend on tasks or activities each day and week.

Used consistently, a spreadsheet can help you build in time to prepare for job interviews, learn new skills, and get everything done that you need to do.

This lesson uses Google Sheets, but you could apply these skills and concepts using any spreadsheet application.
