In this video, you will begin to create a Business Profile on Google.

A business profile is an organized snapshot of your business information that appears when people search for your specific business or businesses like yours on Google Search and Maps.

Creating a profile allows you to do things like manage your information, post photos, and respond to reviews of your business.

To begin creating a profile, type the name of your business and select “Create a Business with this Name” in the dropdown menu.

If your business appears with the address when you type in the business name, this means you have already set up a profile.

Make sure all of your information is up to date.

Next, select if you want to add a physical location that customers can visit.

If you don’t have an actual location, select “No.”

An example of this type of business would be a freelance writing business based at home.

If you select no, as an option, you can add the cities and postal codes you serve.

They will show up on your profile and help bring in customers from these areas.

Choosing a physical location will allow the address to show up in Search and on Google Maps.

Now, type in your business address.

Based on your address, Google Maps will show customers where your business is located.

Decide if you are willing to go beyond your location to serve your customers.

You might choose yes if you are a restaurant that delivers pizza or a grocery store that brings food to people’s homes.

In the next video, you will choose a category for your business, add your contact information, submit your profile, and request verification from Google.
