In this video, you will review the comments your partner made on your resume.
You will make your final revisions.
Then, you will save your resume as a PDF
so it will be ready to submit on job sites and in emails to employers.
Open your resume from your Google Drive.
Read the comments your partner made.
Accept or reject their suggestions as you see fit.
If your partner has not finished reading your resume, that’s okay.
You can work in the document at the same time.
When you finish reading the comments and making changes, check the formatting of your resume.
Make sure the text all fits on 1 page and is well-spaced.
If you need to, reduce the margins or change the spacing of your table to maximize space.
To change the spacing, hover the mouse over a border in the table.
Click and drag to resize the row or column.
Just be careful not to crowd the text on the page.
Clean up your resume layout by removing the border lines.
Right click inside the table.
Select Table properties.
Change the border color to white.
Finally, proofread your resume again.
While at your computer, read it quietly out loud to yourself.
Reading aloud can help you catch mistakes that you and your partner missed.
When you are finished, save your resume as a PDF file.
PDF, or portable document format files, ensure that your resume looks the same
no matter what device or operating system an employer uses.
To save your resume as a PDF, select File.
Then, download the document as a PDF file.
Save the file to your computer.
Then, find the file on your computer.
Open it to make sure it is successfully and correctly saved.
Now your resume is ready to send in an email to an employer, or to upload to a career website.
When you have saved your resume as a PDF, move on to the next video to wrap up this activity.
