In this video, you will revise your resume to make it more compelling.
A resume is an advertisement for you and your skills -- so make sure
that it is convincing to prospective employers.
The most successful resumes use action verbs and measurable details
to catch the reader’s attention.
You have already incorporated many words from the job description into your resume.
Read over it again to see if you can include any more.
Revise your resume to use persuasive, measurable details whenever possible.
Your resume should be no longer than 1 page, so it is important to make every word count.
You don’t have to include every responsibility you had at every job.
Select only the skills that are most relevant for the job you are applying for.
To make sure you can include all your skills in 1 page, make your language short and concise.
As you read, consider:
“Would this help convince the employer that they should interview me?”
If so, keep it.
If not, cut it from your resume.
Once you’ve revised your resume to include measurable details and
action verbs, move on to the next video to share it with a partner and collect feedback.
