In this extension, you will edit your CV to fit a specific job you are applying for.
Many companies use computer programs to scan CVs and filter out candidates who do not have
the right experience for a job.
Those programs narrow down the pool of applicants so that employers have fewer CVss to review.
Using keywords from the job description helps your CV reach an employer.
If you have a particular job that you want to apply for, use keywords from the job posting
to describe your previous work experience.
To edit your CV to fit a specific job description, you will:
Read the job description,
Choose at least three keywords in the job description to use in your CV,
And add one comment in your CV about how your
experience relates to each keyword you choosein the job description.
To begin, open your CV.
Then, read the description of the job you are applying for.
If the description is online, open the advertisement in another tab or window.
If you don’t have a specific job to apply for, you can search for a job that is similar
to your past work experience or a job you might like to have.
Read the job description carefully.
Look for: The skills the job requires,
The tasks you will perform,
And how your past experience fits with the new job.
Choose at least three keywords in the job description to put in your CV.
Next, add comments in your CV about how your previous experience relates to those skills.
Add at least one comment for each keyword.
For example, if part of the new job is to “promote the company's brand online,”
think about examples of marketing skills in your work experience.
Or, if the new job requires “excellent customer service,” think about your specific accomplishments
helping and serving people.
Use keywords from the job description as often as you can in your CV to show you're a great
fit for the job.
Now, it’s your turn: Read the job description,
Choose at least three keywords from the job description that relate to your past experience,
And add one comment in your CV about each keyword you choose.
